Watermead Woodland Walk - Plant Me Pretty

A Community Group has been set up to develop the area around the larger lake making it a beautiful area to visit full of trees, shrubs and plants.  We rely solely on volunteers and donations both of plants and money.

We have received donations which will allow us to initially buy up to 20 trees and once planted will form a Blossom Walk.
We will also create a Secret Garden, which will start just further along from the existing Crab Apple tree. A gravel or bark path will meander towards an area just facing the stream. Either side of the path will be planted with wild flowers. The area is completely hidden and will be very peaceful.

We will hold Community volunteer days for the planting of bulbs and trees and will publish more details later. We hope this will become a regular Community event as we move through the different seasons.
We will ensure that the following points are taken into account: -

  • Buy the correct species of tree,
  • Source from a reliable supplier,
  • Buy at the correct time of year
  • Provide protective tree guards and supports,
  • Continue with general maintenance as the tree develops and grows.
  • Further information will be updated as this wonderful project develops.

Please note:

Although we will adhere to all the guidance given to us regarding the planting of trees, shrubs and plants purchased or donated, we cannot guarantee their survival.

All volunteers who are involved with planting trees, shrubs, plants and bulbs do so at their own risk. Children must always be supervised by their parents.
